The national regulations governing the inspection activities throughout the country to guarantee the compliance with the essential safety requirements, affect the activities of this Technical Section.
ASSOTIC represents the Inspection Bodies operating on ministerial authorisation and/or under accreditation and carry out periodic checks to assess the maintenance of safety conditions in different sectors (lifts, electrical grounding systems, work equipment, legal metrology).
For instance, the checks of work equipment provided by Art. 71 of the Italian Legislative Decree 81/08 are performed by the Bodies Qualified by the Ministry of Labour, which established the Commission D.M. 11 April 2011 to manage their operation (with enabling and controlling functions of Qualified Entities).
ASSOTIC offers a valid support in the management of issues related to the relationship with the Institutions and contribute to the simplification of Accreditation and Authorization processes, with the objective to reduce the costs at the expense of the operators of the certificate of conformity, suggesting improvements for the efficiency of assessment processes and for the reduction of redundant constraints.
That is why ASSOTIC takes part in the meetings with the institutional bodies on behalf of the members, which can make their voice heard and keep up to date on the revision process of national and international standards.
The main objectives of the Technical Section “Qualified Inspection Bodies operating on a mandatory and regulated basis” are:
- • Representing the Qualified Entities in Italy, for technical, economic and political matters that have a direct impact on their activities.
- • Bringing the voice of the Qualified Entities to any assembly where laws, regulations and rules affecting their conformity assessment activities, are proposed, discussed and decided.
- • Discussing with the Italian Institutions to share the expertise of the Association and at the same time foster the harmonisation of laws and their interpretation.
Operationally, ASSOTIC takes part in national and/or international Coordination Committees on behalf of its members that discuss in Specialised Working Groups to share the common lines of interest.
